Eat Competitively
If you think you have what it takes, register for the World Key Lime Pie Eating Championship. Competitors will race to see who can gobble up a nine-inch Key Lime Pie fastest with their hands tied behind their backs. This event receives national media exposure, so if you want a chance to get on television, be sure to sign up! The current record is 51.92 seconds, which is pretty astounding, but with practice, you might be able to set a new record.
Become a Detective
The Key Lime Scavenger Hunt is sure to test your wits. Sign up with a team of two to five people where there will be clues laid out, taking you to quintessential landmarks, sights, and bars of Key West. Finding the clues earns you points, and as you can guess, the most points wins the competition. Make sure you preregister so you and your group don’t miss out on this event.
High Up Pie
One of the most notorious festival events is the Key Lime Pie Drop. Near many historic Key West inns and hosted by the Key West Art & Historical Society, participants will look for a way to drop a Key Lime Pie from the top of the Key West Lighthouse without damaging it. You will have the opportunity to drop your own or watch the carnage from below.
